WHEN YOU DID ALL, AND STILL NOTHING.

I came into this space, where it seemed like I was walking in this circle of obedience, doing what I should be doing, yet nothing was happening. At this moment, I felt like God where are you? I felt discouraged, I felt a wave of loneliness.

It is so easy to feel like what you’re doing is not working, especially when you see no evidence to compensate. The work you are doing is not in vain, but for the glory of God. Be reminded, that doing good, does not always come with a reward. Truly walking with the Lord, is a walk of love. Understanding that all the Lord has done for you is a true act of selfless love. God sent His only begotten son to die for us so that we could have life (John 3:16). When Jesus was walking in the will of His Father, He was not seeking to have anything in return for Him, but the joy it brought to His Father. Stop looking for a prize in everything that you do, be expectant that the Lord will bless you, but do not feel entitled that everything has to be in accordance with your plans and views.

It is our duty to walk with our cross, and sometimes that means, even when we don’t feel like it or can’t see anything ahead. The Lord pointed me to the story of Joshua and the people of God, as they were shut in by the wall of Jericho (Joshua 6:1-27). In the midst of this conflict, the Lord reassured them that He already delivered them, even though the wall was clearly in front of them. The Lord told them to walk around the city for 6 days, and the wall would come down. I am sure, it took strong faith to continue walking in circles, while nothing was happening. There was no evidence of what the Lord was saying, but the people had faith to believe in God’s promise. If you did not see anything happening to truly manifest the promise, keep holding on with faith. We are a people that walk by faith and not sight. It is easy to say you have faith when you clearly see it. The true test of faith comes when you don’t see it, and still have to believe this is a promise of God, and it is true. The enemy will try to place walls and barriers in front of you, causing you to believe that this route is closed, but keep marching on, the walls will come down In Jesus’ Name.
