you deserve this.
Throughout the course of our lives, we experienced some sort of trauma that affected us more on the inside than we saw. This trauma changed our minds to grow accustomed to receiving bad or negative things that happen to us. As a result, when something good comes, we expect the worst, and when something bad comes we say ‘I’m used to it’. We put on the brave suit and always feel as though we must be strong and adaptable to receiving bad over good. The Lord never intended for us to have this mindset, as He said ” I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace, not of evil to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11). The same way the Lord thinks about us is the same way we must think about ourselves.
I realized I tried to block every good thing that came my way because I was truly afraid of receiving it. I never knew how to handle good things, and when it presented themselves, I sabotaged them. I tried to alter my course of good and switch to the expectancy of pain, loss, and sorrow. A switch would always come on, and it hurt because deep down inside, I wanted good. My mindset ruined the good things that I would receive only for me to keep thinking that only bad things happened to me. The Lord revealed to me that in the same way, I was a new creature ( 2 Corinthians 5:17) my mind must be renewed ( Romans 12:1). The enemy loves for you to stay stuck in the old stubborn mindset of “stinking thinking” because it distracts you from what the Lord has had for you all along. Find the good in everything by allowing everything to be thought of as to the Lord. The Lord witholds no good thing from those He loves so why expect bad? Turn the negative into a positive of what the Lord has said to you and what His Word says. There is beauty in this life the Lord gives you, and you are the only one who has the power to see that for yourself. Nothing has the power over you to cloud your present except what you allow. Choose this day what you want for yourself and your gloirous future.
