YOUR 24 HOURS
I believe that we all deserve the same opportunities, but we are the ones that choose what to do with our twenty-four hours. If we are lazy and believe that everything will be handed to us, we have not opened ourselves up to receive. If we are working and seeking for strengthening and improving our lives daily, the Lord will present the opportunity for us and it will be ours. We all have a chance to live life, but it is what we do with our lives while we are here on this earth. Life is not easy, but we can strive every day to do what we can to make it simpler, THE LORD willing. My mindset before about equity would be the testimony of my life. I thought I was always doing ‘good’. But, ‘good’ was what I was already supposed to be doing as a part of a human living on this earth. I found myself stuck in a cycle of defeat, not knowing at the time, I was comfortable in mess and very lazy to do anything about changing it. If I wanted an opportunity for myself I would say ” I’ll do it later” or ” I don’t think I will get it, so I won’t apply”. You have to make it up in your mind that you are worthy to receive, it is not about thinking something is fair or not, you have to think you are good enough to receive whatever you are chasing after. It does not matter the opposition, nor the candidates. I did not have the LORD in my life before and I was overwhelmed with baggage and load so I always thought everything was not fair, and always found a way to blame for my losses and defeat. But now, I have to seek the LORD, and give it to Him, rather than trying to find a way in my own mind. For those that don’t believe in the LORD, you soon will, because He allowed me to know Him on a greater level than I would have ever imagined. Equity is about reaching for an opportunity and realizing that are so many people that will and may be better than you, but you can only be the best you. You have to be real with yourself, and let go of the image that someone else told you are, or what is surrounding you. A person cannot judge themselves for themselves, the LORD gives us understanding of who we truly are. We have to make opportunities available for everyone yes, and no one should be excluded, The basis of equity should be on character rather than the physical.
We can look to the Chapter of Luke when Martha was busy about much, whereas Martha was busy about being in the presence of the Lord. Now, ask yourself where is your time being spent throughout the day? Let everything be done unto the Lord, because what is being done for the Lord cannot be taken away, as the Lord tells Martha about doing much things, but they are not needful for the time:
” And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part. which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41
