WAITING, WAITING, WAITING

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Habakkuk 2:3

Are you waiting on the Lord for something? Do you know what it means to wait? Ask yourself, those two questions and reflect on how it pertains to your life right now, in this season.

I think the hardest thing about waiting on God, is being still and knowing and trusting that God is still in control. There is no one else that can make things happen, above or beside God: “Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art, not thou he, O Lord our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.” Jeremiah 14:22.

One thing I have learned in my waiting season is to make it up in my mind, that God is faithful and I have to take myself back to the times to God’s faithfulness: “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” Isaiah 46:9-10. Now, If God has done it before, won’t He do it again?

Yes, waiting can be extremely discouraging, but we have to hold on to God’s promises, even if it does not come in the time or manner that we want. Even when we feel like God is not with us, we have to hold on to the hope, because God does not need anybody to do good things in our life. He can do it suddenly, and above and beyond our expectations. God’s word does not come back void, so if He promises it, He will do it: ” I have declared the former things from the beginning, and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.” Isaiah 48:3

Don’t give up, If you need comfort in this waiting season, He is near, call upon the Lord: The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.” Psalm, 15:18-19.
