your response.
We are faced with opposition so that our character and faith will be strengthened. The adversity helps us to see where we are weak and what we must continue seeking the Lord in prayer for.
So the Lord gives you a test: one that you can clearly see. You’re talking big faith and standing against the wiles of the enemy. When you’re put in the position to take the test you fold under pressure. You say ” Ok, there’s next time, I’ll brush it off, yet you fail again.. Next time, because more than 5-6 times and you wonder why do I continue to fail?
The simple answer is you don’t have enough God in you. Your response is based on fleshly and early wisdom and not the wisdom of Hod. When Jesus was tested after his fasting. The enemy cant to lure, deceive and manipulate Jesus into his traps. Even when Jesus was presented with the opportunity to deny and turn from God He didn’t. He responded with the Word of God, which was in HIm.
We need the Word of God so that we can walk in the footsteps and mindset of Jesus. Jesus left the Word to correct, reprove, teach, encourage and guide us so that when faced with tests and trials we know how to respond.
There’s a fleshly response and a spiritual response
For example:
“This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.”
James 3:15
My body says it is okay to have sex before marriage, everyone else is doing it.
This is a fleshly and earthly response.
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
James 3:17
The Word says to lean not on thine own understanding, flee youthful lusts.
This is a spiritual response.
